London, United Kingdom and Englewood, Colorado, 1st April – Open Broadcast Systems, a leader in software-based low-latency video encoding and decoding, has announced that Mobile TV Group has selected its encoders and decoders for low-latency video transport. Mobile TV Group is one of the largest live production providers in the US covering over 4000 events per year and is using Open Broadcast Systems’ encoders and decoders to serve its Remote Graphics and Cloud Control operations.
“Mobile TV Group customers rely on us to help them deliver world-class live productions to their audience with no room for error,” said Mobile TV Group CEO Nick Garvin. “By using the highest quality and most reliable technology on our mobile units, we’re able to deliver on that promise. Open Broadcast Systems encoders and decoders are a critical piece of the equation thanks to the low latency and flexibility that they provide during a broadcast.”
Kieran Kunhya, Founder and CEO of Open Broadcast Systems, added: “Mobile TV Group has unparalleled experience with an immense scale and complexity of broadcasts every single day. Our low latency encode/decode platform with frame accurate synchronization is delivering unrivalled flexibility to the remote workflows required for such an ambitious schedule.”
With latencies as low as 100ms, Open Broadcast Systems, high-density encoders and decoders are deployable on standard server hardware as well as a range of other form factors. With native support for ST-2110 up to 100 Gigabit Ethernet, it provides extremely high density for encoding and decoding. The new “5G-Assist” feature enhances remote production over unmanaged networks.
Open Broadcast Systems will be exhibiting at NAB Show from 6th – 9th April (booth W2427).
